A history

Legend has it that Négrette, the black grape so characteristic of the Fronton vineyard, was brought from Cyprus by the Order of the Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. It has been established that the knights were indeed in Fronton. However, modern vine investigations have shown that this endemic variety has local origins, from the banks of the River Tarn.

This wine has a very deep purple colour. Its bouquet releases a complex aroma of ripe summer berries and violet. The straightforward attack reveals a fruitiness on the palate that is similarly fresh and powerful, with a delicately liquorice finish.
